Product Details

A MOST UNUSUAL .730 FLINTLOCK TRADE-MUSKET WITH BACK-ACTION LOCK, UNSIGNED, no visible serial number,
probably Belgian circa 1845, with round iron 38in. shallow rifled barrel, pyramid fore-sight, no provision for rear-sight, Birmingham proofs, rounded top-tang, oversized plain back-action lock with ring-necked cock, walnut full-stock with heavy iron furniture, French-style twin iron barrel-bands and twin-banded nose-cap all retained with spring-bars and brass-tipped iron ramrod

Other Notes: Research would seem to indicate that this musket was one of a number of arms originally produced as a percussion and subsequently converted to flint for colonial use in areas where caps were difficult to obtain.
