circa 1878, with 28in. re-blued barrels (faded), the flat raised top-rib signed 'GEORGE GIBBS, 29 CORN STREET BRISTOL' together with 'METFORD'S PATENT 167', small blade fore-sight, rear-sight with one standing and three flush-folding leaves, all with platinum centre-lines, engraved band at breech, plain borderline engraved standing breech and top-tang, plain borderline engraved back-action locks signed 'GEORGE GIBBS', sliding safes behind the low-profile reblued hammers, figured walnut butt-stock chequered at the wrist, iron furniture including chequered pistol-grip spur to the lower tang, 'Jones' swing double-bite under-lever and chequered walnut splinter fore-end, eyelet and button sling fixings
