for 1871, with round 3in. barrel (blued finish lost, some pitting), the top signed on two lines 'COLT'S HOUSE PISTOL, HARTFORD CT. USA', integral pinched blade fore-sight, sighting groove to the top-strap, iron distinctive fully fluted four-shot cylinder, solid brass frame, the left hand side inscribed 'WILLIAM K. JONES', spur trigger, exposed hammer, under-barrel ejector rod and fitted with rosewood birdshead grips (some chipping)
