circa 1870, very similar in style to a Tranter Model 2 but with octagonal brass 3 1/2in. barrel signed on the top-flat 'MANTON, LONDON', bead fore-sight, plain iron cylinder with front locking notches and traces of engraving to the leading edge, border and scroll engraved brass frame with sprung cylinder release and compound linkage articulated ejector mounted on the right hand side of barrel, spurred hammer, sheath trigger, chequered walnut grips and exaggerated web to the back-strap
