London hallmarks rubbed but almost certainly 1755 with later conversion to percussion by drum and nipple, with slightly swamped 9in. barrel (pitted), carved steeple and tear-drop rib at breech, iron top-tang, curved and radiused lock signed 'BARBAR' (faint, shallow pitted), slab-sided engraved hammer, walnut full-stock (cracked through at wrist and repaired, small losses), silver furniture including long-eared grotesque mask butt-cap, trigger-guard tang and bow, pierced floral ribbon sideplate, rococo escutcheon, oval take-down wedge escutcheons and ramrod pipes, missing end of ramrod, some furniture parts loose but present
