A RARE 26.5mm ALL-BRASS DOUBLE-BARRELLED FLARE-PISTOL, MODEL 'AUFLOSUNG DEUTSCHE LEUCHTPISTOLEN-SAMMLUNG M1899', serial no. 80,
translating as 'Double-Marine Flare Gun Mod 1899', manufactured for the German Imperial Navy possibly by Langenhan, with break-open 5 1/4in. brass barrels with locking rod and chequered brass double push-piece for release, boxlock single-trigger action with domed circular side-plates and exposed iron hammers with chequered spurs, smooth wood grips (some shrinkage), the heel engraved 'W.K. 01' over 'No. 80', both above a crown over 'M4', overall length 11in., weight approximately 5lbs.
