A CASED PAIR OF 7x56 DIENSTGLAS GERMAN WORLD WAR TWO BINOCULARS, serial no. 556638,
circa 1940, for the Wehrmacht but possibly re-issued to the Kriegsmarine, with flaring 9in. barrels, adjustable central mount, individually focussing eye-pieces, each with a hard rubber eye-guard and complete with a leather neck-strap, the whole refinished in Kriegsmarine green-grey paint and housed in a waffenampt marked Zeiss black leather case dated 1943 with (possibly spurious) Kriegsmarine eagle to base, a pair of coloured filters housed in the lid, weight of binoculars approx. 1 1/2lbs.
