BOSTON, MASS ***' (remainder rubbed out), plain back-action sidelock with external hammer, walnut straight-hand butt-stock with magazine tube concealed in the iron heel-plate (butt hairline cracked along left hand side above magazine tube), side mounted iron saddle bar and ring, walnut splinter fore-end with single iron barrel-band, traces of finish
