for 1825, with rebrowned 30in. twist barrels, top-rib elevated at breech and signed 'J. PURDEY 314 1/2 OXFORD STREET, LONDON' (renewed), bead fore-sight, white-metal band and vented plugs at breech, fully engraved top-tang, borderline engraved locks with scroll engraved detail to front of bar and tail, the locks signed 'PURDEY', engraved starbursts forwards of the dolphin headed hammers, walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist, iron furniture (trigger guard bow re-engraved) and brass mounted ebony ramrod
