late 19th century, with blued 4in. barrel (bore worn and shallow pitted), the serial numbers erased from all but the cylinder, break open frame with auto-ejecting fluted cylinder, large broad arrow mark carved to the top-strap, chequered hard rubber birdshead grips with lanyard ring at heel, broad hammer spur, traces only of original finish remaining
