circa 1885, with round 7in. barrel (excellent bore), the top marked 'MERWIN HULBERT & CO. NEW YORK USA' together with patent dates to January 1883, crescent fore-sight, side mounted take-down catch, later style closed frame with barrel release button to the underside, the left side of frame marked 'CALIBER WINCHESTER 1873', fluted cylinder, colour hardened hammer with folding spur and colour hardened trigger-guard, antique smooth flared ivory grips, lanyard ring at heel, the whole retaining much original nickel plated finish
