circa 1870, with brushed bright 21 1/2in. barrel with later signature 'JOHN RIGBY LONDON' to the top centre, block and blade fore-sight, small ladder rear-sight (range markings lost), swing open breech marked 'SNIDER'S PATENT', re-engraved bar action lock marked 'JOHN RIGBY 1860' together with a 'V.R.' crown device and the Rigby back-to-back 'R' trademark, walnut three-quarter stock (inlet repairs around lock), brass furniture, the heel-plate spur marked '22 B.R.A..' over '6 B', the heel itself marked '58', transverse serial number to lower tang, two iron barrel-bands and re-formed jag-ended clearing rod
