A RARE .320 (SHORT REVOLVER) AUTOMATIC-EJECTING REVOLVER, UNSIGNED, MODEL 'THOMAS'S PATENT', serial no. 65 (779),
circa 1870, with twist and pull octagonal 4 1/8in. colour hardened barrel (colour faded, light stains to bore), bead fore-sight, bulbous handle below barrel, solid frame with oversize cylinder aperture allowing the cylinder to be drawn forwards by the barrel ejecting the rounds, the left hand side signed 'THOMAS'S PATENT No. 779' and 'No 65', the top-strap with standing notch sight, short plain cylinder with rope-twist engraved band to front, spurred hammer, hinged loading gate, chequered walnut one-piece saw-handled grip and guarded trigger, fair traces of finish
