circa 1890, 26in. black powder only barrels, file cut sight rib engraved at the breech end 'WINNERS OF THE 1885 AMERICAN RIFLE TRIALS', open sights with two folding leaf sights, white metal inlaid sight lines and marked for 100, 200 and 300 yds, block mounted bead foresight (likely replacement), the breech end mounted with a Pecar 4x81 Light telescopic sight, serial no. 56901, in quickly-detachable mounts, treble-grip 'Trade Mark B' action, carved percussion fences, elongated top-strap, non-rebounding back-action locks with reblued hammers, border engraving, retaining slight traces of original colour-hardening and renewed finish, 14 1/2in. semi-pistolgrip stock including blued steel buttplate, sling swivels, fore-end with grip-catch release lever, weight 9lb. (unscoped) and 10lb. (with scope)
