A GOOD 1920-1940 JAPANESE "KYU-GUNTO" ARMY OFFICER'S SWORD, circa late 1930s, with 24 1/2 in. slightly curved single-edged nickelled steel blade with clipped point, fullered on each side, brass ricasso, guard and hilt back-strap decorated with chrysanthemums and foliage, press-stud scabbard release button, white leather grip bound with brass wire, together with its nickelled steel scabbard with suspension loop, some wear and crazing to the grip leather and some rust patches to the scabbard, 34 in. overall
