A 13 BORE DOUBLE BARREL PERCUSSION SPORTING GUN SIGNED BURNARD NEWCASTLE CIRCA 1850, no visible serial number, with 30" professionally rebrowned iron twist barrels, the top rib engraved "BURNARD NEWCASTLE", with two rammer pipes, the fixed breech profusely scroll engraved, bar-action locks polished bright with scroll border engraving and decorated with dog and pheasant game scene to the right-hand lock and dog and partridge to the left, both bearing the makers name "BURNARD" to the centre's, figured walnut half-stock with chequered (worn) wrist and forend, the iron mounts comprising butt-plate, trigger-guards and forend pipe all profusely engraved to a high standard. An attractive gun. Richard Burnard was established at 111 Pilgrim St. Newcastle, 1843 to 1865,
