A .577 SNIDER MK III CAVALRY CARBINE SIGNED I. HOLLIS & SONS, no visible serial number circa 1875, with 18 1/2in. barrel rifled with five grooves, with block and blade front sight and small carbine pattern ladder rear-sight, Birmingham proofs to breech, hinged breech block with Mk III pattern positive locked breech, the lock stamped on the tail with the I. Hollis roundel and "I. HOLLIS & SONS" to the centre, walnut half stocked with iron butt-plate and trigger-guard, side-rib and ring, one barrel band., some wear overall barrel and action to a grey patina some staining.
