* A .41 (RIMFIRE) SWISS MODEL 1856 / 1867 MILBANK-AMSLER BREECH-LOADING RIFLE BY A. FRANCOTTE, serial no. 1340,
circa 1867, with 34in. barrel fitted with block and blade front-sight and quadrant rear-sight, the two piece hinged breech block stamped 'VRUHAUSIA ?/ SIG' (the contractor who converted the rifle from muzzle-loading), side-action lock stamped with the original makers name 'A. FRANCOTTE A LIEGE', regulation iron mounted full walnut stock with three barrel bands, the top band incorporating a nose-cap, the trigger-guard with finger spur, the butt drops down at a sharp angle as this model of rifle was designed for shooting from a standing position, complete with sling swivels and rod, some water damage to a large area at toe of butt
