A FAIRLY GOOD .577 SNIDER MK III UNSIGNED SPORTING RIFLE, CIRCA 1875, serial no. 6547, with 22 1/2 in Birmingham proofed barrel with block and dovetailed blade front -sight and leaf rear-sights to 200 yards,, fitted with the Mk III positive bolt locked breech, borderline engraved plain unsigned lock, iron mounted full walnut stock with chequered wrist and forend, the underside of the butt with inset escutcheon engraved with the original owners initials, the mounts include a scroll trigger-guard, the gun is in quite good condition, the stock with some minor wear commensurate with use, the barrel with much deep blue finish and tight action, wrist and tip of comb modified for a tang sight (missing)
