circa 1700, with iron 14 1/2in. barrel, semi octagonal breech, solid top-tang, the muzzle with later scroll embossed white-metal sleeve with integral spiral twist design dummy ramrod, further embossed and moulded white metal barrel band, borderline engraved radiused lock signed 'SCIOLI' below the pan and 'IN BRESCIA' across the tail, swan-necked cock and bridleless frizzen, walnut full-stock with carved and moulded margins around the iron furniture, long-eared bulbous butt-cap, pierced and moulded scrolled sideplate and pillared trigger-guard
