circa 1894, 28in. replacement nitro barrels (circa 1932, numbered 18357 and 18240), (No.1 sleeved right tube in 1991 and reproved in 2023), the ribs engraved 'WESTLEY RICHARDS 23 CONDUIT ST. LONDON' and gold-inlaid '1' and '2' at the breech ends, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 3/4 choke, No.2 bore diameters marginal, Anson & Deeley patent scroll-back treble-grip actions, patent no. 1756 of 1875, use numbers 12896 and 12892, Westley Richards patent toplevers gold-inlaid '1' and '2', automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, J. Deeley patent ejector systems, patent no. 14526 of 1884, use numbers 3920 and 3921 (at fault Gun No.1), the fences carved in relief with scrolling leafwork on a stippled background, the actions and furniture with fine acanthus scrollwork surrounding game scene vignettes of pheasant, partridge and hound, slight distortion to forward edges of floorplates, the triggerguards with a hare, the toplevers with snipe, brushed finish, 15 1/4in. figured stocks (swept at combs) including 1in. recoil pads, fore-ends with Deeley & Edge patent release levers and horn finials, weight 6lb. 8oz. (No.1) and 6lb. 10oz. (No.2), with their brass-cornered oak and leather case (heavy internal mothing)
