circa 1845, with octagonal seven-grooved 28 1/4in. barrel, the top-flat signed 'HORTON, SALOP', white metal fore-sight, rear-sight of one standing and one folding leaf, engraved bands, scrolls and a single platinum line at breech, border and scroll engraved long top-tang, border and scroll engraved back-action lock signed 'HORTON', sliding safe, engraved working replacement hammer, walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist, iron furniture, single set trigger (set removed), white metal fore-end cap and barrel wedge escutcheons, brass mounted ramrod, in a later produced oak case with walnut lid, lined and compartmented in turquoise baize and together with a Sykes Patent powder-flask
