30in. nitro 12-bore shot barrels, numbered 1066 and F1067, 10mm solid raised matt top-rib gold-inlaid 'II' at the breech end, 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. in both;
hold open toplever, manual safety with integral triggerplate release, the action and furniture finely carved in high relief with bold stylised scrolling acanthus on a deeply stippled and darkened background, the decorative sideplates finely game scene engraved in Bulino style with African game scenes, a family of elephant to the left, Cape buffalo to the right, the underside with a rhino, the game scenes signed 'D. Bonsi', the triggerplate carved 'ACCADEMIA "IL BULINO" and 'D. BONSI. L. BERTELLA', 15 1/4in. highly-figured pistolgrip stock with cheekpiece and engraved steel pistolgrip-cap, the individual fore-ends engraved en suite, weight 8lb. 5oz. (.375 barrels) and 8lb. 3oz. (12-bore barrels), in its lightweight leather case fitted for both sets of barrels.
