for 1980, 28in. nitro barrels with 6mm ventilated matt top rib, 2 3/4in. chambers, Teague multichokes (with spares, done in 1992), hold-open toplever, manual safety with integral barrel-selector switch and gold-inlaid 'O', 'U' and 'S' details, gold-washed trigger, deeply carved acanthus scroll engraving with gold-inlaid bordering, surrounding scenes of pointer flushing partridge and pheasant, coin finish, 14 1/2in. ornately chequered well figured stock including rubber recoil pad, weight 6lb. 3oz., in its makers ABS case
Provenance: this lot is accompanied by a factory letter from Browning Brothers Co. stating:
"serial number P33PM1388 is listed in our records as a Browning B 25 Superposed Shotgun. It is described as a P3 U Lightning. 20 gauge over and under with 28inch. barrels choked improved cylinder and modified with a ventilated rib, grey receiver and an oil finish on the stock and forearm. This gun was manufactured in Belgium."
