circa 1903, 24 3/4in. nitro reproved barrel (London proof 1998) with raised solid wave-cut top-rib, with banners engraved 'ARMY & NAVY CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETY LIMd. LONDON' and 'FOR CORDITE ONLY', open sights with two folding leaf sights with white metal inlaid sight lines and marked '100', '200' and '300' and with folding tangent sight marked 4 to 18, ramped bead fore-sight with folding locking protector, marked 'RD. No. 454618', border engraved bolt shroud, magazine cut off, B.S.A. and C. Proctor patent tang safety, patent No. 28834 of 7th December 1897, the tang marked 'B.S.A. PAT. 28834 / 97' in an oval, the butt socket with border and scroll engraving and signed 'B.S.A. CO.', the top right side of the socket numbered 7642S, the same number marked to the rear of the bolt handle, detachable magazine with border and acanthus scroll detailing, ribbed trigger, pistolgrip stock with horn pistolgrip-cap and fore-end finial, sling eyes, 14 3/8in. pull including border engraved steel buttplate (with trap), weight 7lb. 9oz., with a Musto slip
