A RARE DETACHED RIM-FIRE LOCK FROM A BRITISH CONTRACT MODEL 1865 STARR ARMS CARBINE, circa 1866, complete, in working order, strong spring, good case-hardened colours with lock-plate marked 'STARR ARMS Co. / YONKERS, N.Y', all original with manu inspection marks and much original finish; towards the end of the American Civil War, thw Starr Arms Company m modified the design of their capping breech-loader carbine lock for supply to the British to take the Spencer 56/60 RF cartridge
