circa 1866, with 30 1/2in. fully Enfield proofed barrel, rifled with five grooves, fitted with bayonet lug at muzzle, block and blade front-sight and ladder rear-sight, the breech stamped 'N.Z. / 87 /714', the lock stamped with the crown 'V.R.' cypher on the tail and 'B.S.A. CO. / 1866' to the centre, regulation iron mounted full walnut stock, butt stamped with various inspection and issue markings, missing its top barrel band and cleaning rod
