mid 19th century, with curved 28in. blade (some thin staining), tang signed to one side only, visible hamon temper line extending around the kissaki, gilded copper habaki, moulded carved and engraved blackened copper-alloy tsuba featuring rolling clouds inhabited by a gilded dragon around the edge, en-suite blackened fuchi, menuki and kashira also with gilded detail, cotton tsuka-ito and contained within a polished rayskin covered saya
