for 1934, 28in. nitro reproved barrels (in 1963), ribs gold-inlaid '1' and '2', engraved 'ALEX HENRY & CO. EDINBURGH. INCORPORATING ALEX MARTIN. GLASGOW. ABERDEEN & STIRLING', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and full choke (No.1), imp. cyl. and 3/4 choke (No.2), treble-grip actions with hidden third bites, automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, border and acanthus scroll engraving surrounding the makers name within scrolling banners, retaining traces of original colour-hardening and finish, 15in. figured stocks including 1 1/2in. wooden extensions, weight 6lb. 5oz. (No.1) 6lb 4oz. (No.2), in their brass-cornered oak and leather double guncase
Provenance: The makers records list gun no. 8402 as being completed on the 8th November 1934 and remarks '8412 pair', gun no. 8412 listed with the same date and 'to match 8402'
