A GROUP OF FIVE RARE GAME CARRIERS BY JAMES DIXON & SONS, circa late 19th Century, 1) rare steel Jonas's Patent 'Simplex', unmarked but retailed by Dixon and appearing in their period catalogues; 2) rare Combination double-carrier, with hinged slots to allow smaller game to be held, both hinged gates marked 'JAMES DIXON / & SONS / SHEFFIELD' with trumpet and banner trade-mark, leather strap deteriorated and broken at one end, some worming; 3) a double-carrier with horizontal screw gates marked 'JAMES DIXON / & SONS / SHEFFIELD'; 4) a double-carrier with both hinged gates marked 'JAMES DIXON / & SONS / SHEFFIELD' with trumpet and banner trade-mark, some worming; 5) single carrier with hinged gate marked 'JAMES DIXON / & SONS / SHEFFIELD' with trumpet and banner trade-mark; NB - this trademark was used between 1879-1890
