A 36-BORE PERCUSSION HOLSTER PISTOL BY KUCHENREITER, no visible serial number,
possibly converted from flintlock, with 11in. blued octagonal tapering barrel inlet with silver scrolls, arabesques and waxing, waning and full moon devices to the top and top-side flats, the top flat with bordered panel inlet with 'I. CHRISTOPH KUCHENREITER' and with a yellow metal poincon at breech embossed with a mounted figure above 'I.C.', white metal fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight with two additional folding leaves, the solid top-tang marked with a '2', radiused borderline and scroll engraved lock of flint form with traces of signature (possibly not Kuchenreiter), walnut full-stock with fluted grip bearing a socketed iron plate originally for a detachable butt (now absent), the sockets now filled with mother of pearl, nickel furniture, single set trigger with spurred guard, engraved iron 'angel-wing' sideplate and ebony ramrod
