circa 1840, with 9 1/4in. octagonal barrels signed in silver on the top-flat 'I. ADAM KUCHENREUTER IN REGENSBURG' with a floral flourish to each end, the top side-flats inlaid with running vines, silver band at breech and oval poincon with a stag above 'I.A.K', fully scroll engraved breech-block, dove-tailed blade fore-sight, elevating notch rear-sights to the fully engraved top-tang, both pistols numbered for a pair, fully scroll engraved hump-backed bar-action locks with swinging hammer-block safes forwards of the scroll engraved hammers, the heads engraved as beasts, walnut half-stocks with chisel-carved scrolls around the top-tangs and the schnabel tips, fluted butts, the panels between flutes carved with open scrolls, moulded iron butt-caps with 'jelly-mould' pommels, single set triggers, spurred and scroll engraved trigger-guard bows, white metal barrel key escutcheons and no provision for ramrods
