RONGE FILS A LIEGE UNUSUAL 12-BORE LEFT-HAND OPENING ROTARY-UNDERLEVER HAMMERGUN, serial no. 148 / 4608, circa 1880, possibly converted from muzzle-loading, 29 7/8in. black powder blank only reproved damascus barrels (in 2024), the rib engraved 'J.B. RONGE FILS A LIEGE.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. choke, left-hand opening rotary-underlever, manual tang safety, carved serpentine fences, bar-action locks with non rebounding high-spurred flat faced hammers (one with repairs), border and acanthus scroll engraving, retaining traces of original colour-hardening and finish, 14 1/4in. stock including buttplate, permanently-attached fore-end with replacement plastic finial, weight 7lb. 11oz.
