for 1899, 29in. nitro reproved Krupp-steel chopperlump barrels, the rib engraved 'J. PURDEY & SONS. AUDLEY HOUSE. SOUTH AUDLEY STREET. LONDON.' and '2' at the breech end, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. and 1/2 choke, minor dents, removable striker discs, toplever engraved '2', automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, arrow cocking-indicators, best fine acanthus scroll engraving with floral bouquets, retaining very slight traces of colour-hardening, some cold bluing to pins and screws, 16 3/8in. figured replacement stock, weight 6lb. 13oz., in a Purdey 'THE LIGHTWEIGHT' leather motor case

Henry Bernhard Samuelson b. 1845 was a Captain in the Gloucestershire Regiment 1872-1884 and MP for Cheltenham 1868-1874, and Frome 1876-1885. He lived at 15 Egerton Gardens, London.
