circa 1861, with 36in. barrel with Turner's patent rifling and fitted with windage adjustable front-sight and target style ladder rear-sight, bolted border engraved lock bearing makers name 'THOMAS TURNER / BIRMINGHAM', to centre, iron mounted figured full walnut stock with chequered wrist and fore-end, the right but with inset silver presentation plaque engraved, 'BRIGHTON / ALL COMERS MATCH / 2ND APRIL / 1ST PRIZE / W. H. HALLETT / 1ST SUSSEX R.V.' (sic) complete with original loading rod
