probably Spanish, with round 'in the white' 5in. barrel, octagonal throat mount with silver wire inlaid geometrics, plain cylinder with external ratchet locking and engraved with a checkerboard pattern inlaid with wire borders and dots, en-suite action body, double action mechanism with folding trigger, spurred hammer and chisel carved ebony bag-shaped grips, in a later walnut box lined and compartmented in burgundy velvet, probably adapted from an instrument case
