of loose Tranter style, circa 1865, with solid borderline engraved frame with integral 2 7/8in. barrel, plain reblued six-shot cylinder, hinged loading gate, long-spurred hammer with spur trigger, chequered walnut grips, the flat heel numbered in the wood and side-spring retaining catch for cylinder arbor, in a period English market oak case lined and compartmented in blue baize and complete with turnscrew, cleaning rod and oil bottle, the inside of lid with 'Broughton Boston, Wakefield' trade label
