A CASED 80-BORE PERCUSSION 1ST MODEL TRANTER'S PATENT DOUBLE-TRIGGER REVOLVER RETAILED BY W. RICHARDS, LIVERPOOL, serial no. 20447Y,
circa 1855, with 5in. octagonal barrel, engraved band at muzzle, the top-strap signed 'W RICHARDS, 53 OLD HALL ST. LIVERPOOL', plain five-shot cylinder with engraved band to leading edge, solid frame with spigot mount for detachable rammer (included), inverted 'Y' shaped safe spring, chequered walnut grip and self-cocking twin trigger mechanism marked 'W. TRANTER'S PATENT 1041', in a period walnut case relined in antiquity in green baize and including a mould, loading rod, powder flask, Tranter retailed lubricating compound and cast bullets, caps and other sundries, the inside of lid with reproduction Wilkinson label
