A PAIR OF 14mm CONTINENTAL PERCUSSION RIFLED BELT PISTOLS, no visible serial numbers,
circa 1840 and apparently signed in Persian script, with 10in. micro-rifled octagonal fine damascus barrels, dove-tailed fore-sights, standing notch rear-sights with an additional folding leaf, engraved top-tangs also forming the back-straps, relief scroll engraved curved back-action locks with central signed panels, scroll engraved hammers, walnut half-stocks with artificially enhanced grain (both with minor cracks and repairs), chequered grips with flared pommels carved around the edge and fitted with domed iron butt-caps with engraved central oval panels, spurred trigger guards, plain triggers, moulded fore-end tip with no provision for ramrods and side mounted iron belt-hooks
