circa 1856, with 7in. octagonal barrel, the top-flat with retailer's marked 'J. BROWNE & CO', dove-tailed blade fore-sight, sighting notch to the hammer nose, Kerr patent rammer, barrel retained via a wing-nut, plain five-shot cylinder with engraved band to leading edge, open iron frame, the side-plate signed within a banner 'WEBLEY'S PATENT', long straight hammer spur, iron grip-straps, the back with serial number and 'BY HER MAJESTY'S ROYAL LETTER PATENT' (all rubbed), chequered walnut grips (worn), trigger guard bow detached at front mount, the whole darkly stained
