COGSWELL 224 STRAND LONDON', scroll engraved action body and top-tang, engraved back-action external hammer locks, the hammers drilled with apertures to capture the cartridge pins, the locks further signed 'B. COGSWELL' (right hand lock not holding on cock), chequered walnut straight hand stock, 1/2in. chequered horn heel-plate, chequered walnut permanently attached splinter fore-end concealing the articulated barrel mechanism, the inside of the opening under-lever mechanism marked 'GHAYE PATENT' together with his trademark
