A CASED .442 WEBLEY R.I.C. No.1 (SECOND PATTERN) REVOLVER FOR THE TRANSVAAL POLICE, RETAILED BY DAVID BENTLEY, serial no. 26,
circa 1870, with blued ovoid 3 1/2in. barrel, swing-out ejector on barrel-mounted crane, the top-strap signed 'DAVID BENTLEY. MAKER. BIRMINGHAM ENGLAND, solid frame, the left side of barrel throat engraved 'T.P.' over 'No. 46', plain blued cylinder serial numbered on rear-face with rear ratchet locking, double-action mechanism and two-piece chequered walnut grips, in a later oak casing with reproduction Philip Webley & Son label and complete with an oil bottle, turn-screw and later cleaning rod
