circa 1863, with 4 1/2in. octagonal barrel signed 'ADDRESS COL SAML COLT NEW YORK U.S. AMERICA' (some pitting to top-flat, details partially obscured), bead fore-sight, open iron frame marked 'COLTS PATENT', stepped roll engraved five-shot cylinder (safe stop-pins crushed), brass grip-straps and smooth walnut one-piece grip, refinished throughout with some shallow pitting present, wedge miss-matched, in a probable period U.S. market wood storage case, the interior lined and compartmented in pink blush baize, parchment instruction label inside lid and with a number of reproduction accessories
