A GOOD WESTLEY RICHARDS .177 SECOND MODEL HIGHEST POSSIBLE AIR-PISTOL, serial no. 1063,

Product Details

A GOOD WESTLEY RICHARDS .177 SECOND MODEL 'HIGHEST POSSIBLE' AIR-PISTOL, serial no. 1063,
circa 1914, second model, 12in. overall with 9 1/2in. rifled barrel, chequered hard-rubber grips, air cylinder stamped 'WESTLEY RICHARDS "HIGHEST POSSIBLE" AIR PISTOL' on three lines, frame with patent number and date, also marked 'WESTLEY RICHARDS & COY, LONDON W' on two lines, the whole retaining the majority of an older, possibly period, nickel plating

Provenance: This air-pistol is interesting in that for many years collectors have speculated whether the standard form Highest Possible and the ultra rare 'concentric' model were serial numbered together or in separate runs. Holts have been privileged to have sold three 'concentric' examples, serial no's. 1034, 1055 and 1068. On the strength of this evidence, it would seem that the pistols were numbered in the same run
