circa 1895, with tapering round 28in. barrel signed 'THE BRAENDLIN ARMOURY CO.', dove-tailed fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight with two additional folding leaves and a ladder, the nocksform marked 'AMMUNITION No 2 MUSKET', border engraved action with safe and cocking indicator mounted to the right side and stamped 'PATENT No. 26147', dropping feed ramp, chequered walnut straight hand butt-stock, iron heel-plate with central trap-door bearing traces of a painted inventory number, chequered walnut splinter fore-end with ebony tip and fitted with eyelets for a sling, traces of faded finish
