for 1894/95, with 30in. 'No.3 weight' blued, half-round, half octagonal nitro barrel signed on the top-flat 'MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO., NEW HAVEN CONN. U.S.A.', tunnel fore-sight, flat-topped buckhorn rear-sight, calibre marking at breech, colour hardened slab-sided falling block action (colour faded), automatic cocking hammer, the top-tang fitted with a period folding ladder vernier peep-sight, walnut pistol-grip butt-stock with Swiss-style nickel heel-plate, ebony inlet to toe of grip, plain trigger and walnut splinter fore-end also with ebony inlay at tip, much colour and finish throughout
