A 16-BORE TOPLEVER HAMMERGUN, numbered '2',
circa 1890, 29 5/8in. nitro reproved bold damascus barrels (in 2000), feathered cut matt rib with a banner engraved 'J. TOMISCHKA KREMS a/D' and an ornate '2' in an oval at the breech end, 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. and 1/2 choke, carved percussion fences, toplever with an ornate '2' carved in relief on a stippled oval, rebounding back-action locks with ornate hammers, best acanthus scroll engraving with decorative bordering, the flats, rear barrel lump and fore-end iron all numbered '2', 14in. figured pistolgrip stock with cheekpiece, chequered domed pistolgrip-cap, sling swivels and carved horn buttplate with a blank shield and woodland scene of deer, the stock with an escutcheon carved in relief with the monogram 'MVS' surmounted by the coronet of a Baron, fore-end with grip catch release lever, weight 6lb.
