A FINE CASED 54-BORE PERCUSSION TRANTER'S PATENT 2ND MODEL TRIGGER-COCKING REVOLVER RETAILED BY CHARLES NEPHEW, CALCUTTA, serial no. 3640T,
circa 1853, with blued octagonal 6in. barrel, engraved band at muzzle, scroll engraving to sides of barrel throat, the borderline and scroll engraved top-strap signed 'CHARLES NEPHEW & CO.', dove-tailed blade fore-sight with original straw finish, standing notch rear-sight, solid borderline and scroll engraved frame with inverted 'Y' shaped safe spring, colour hardened plain five-shot cylinder with borderline and rope-twist band engraving, chequered walnut swept one-piece grip with shaped and engraved colour hardened grip-cap, Tranter marked patent double trigger mechanism and second pattern detachable rammer, much original colour and finish remaining and in its equally fine mahogany storage case lined and compartmented in green baize, circular parchment 'Charles Nephew' trade label and including a fine 'Heath Patent' copper powder-flask, a matching number bullet mould, a mahogany loading rod, tins for lubricant, bullets and caps, a turn-screw, nipple key and oil-bottle
