circa 1875, with plated octagonal 5in. barrel marked 'WHITNEYVILLE ARMORY CT U.S.A.' and 'PAT MAY 23 1871' (the latter rubbed and barely legible), solid plated frame with push-up release catch for the cylinder arbor/ejector rod combined, plated and fluted five-shot cylinder, spur trigger and exposed hammer and walnut birds-head grips, much apparent original nickel plating remaining
