A 12-BORE 1912 PATENT SINGLE-TRIGGER OVER AND UNDER SIDELOCK EJECTOR, serial no. 7092, with extra barrels and interchangeable fore-end woods,
circa 1915, unsigned (and no serial number) London proofed 29in. Whitworth steel nitro barrels with 7mm ventilated matt top-rib (rib dented at breech end), wooden side-fillets, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and imp. cyl. choke;
extra 29in. unsigned (and no serial number) Birmingham proofed nitro barrels (proof date for 1953) with 4mm solid matt top-rib, gold-inlaid '2' at the breech end, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. choke in both;
shared fore-end, E.C. Green quadruple-grip over and under action, incorporating patent numbers 8225 and 14951 of 1912, hold-open toplever, manual safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, ejectors at fault with Whitworth barrels fitted, fine acanthus scroll engraving with floral bouquets, retaining very slight traces of original colour-hardening, 14 3/4in. figured stock including 7/8in. (poorly fitted) leather covered recoil pad, fore-end fitted with 9in. wood, weight 7lb. 8oz. (Whitworth) and 7lb. 6oz. (Birmingham proofed), in a lightweight leather motor case; together with two spare fore-end woods (7 1/4in. and 10 1/2in.) with matching sized wooden side fillets
Other Notes: An invoice from J. Purdey & Sons, dated 22nd April 1966 comes with the Lot, reading '12 bore D.B.H.E. Edwinson Green gun in leather cover; Improving and re-regulating shooting in both barrels" at a cost of £9. 3s. 6d
